Virginia Beach, VA. - The Salem Community College Mighty Oaks delivered a complete performance on both sides of the ball, sweeping Bryant & Stratton College (VA) in a doubleheader with a 10-6 victory in Game 1 and a 6-2 win in Game 2.
With timely power hitting, aggressive baserunning, and strong pitching depth, Salem controlled the day from start to finish.
Game 1: Salem 10, Bryant & Stratton 6
The Mighty Oaks capitalized on their opportunities in the opener, scoring 10 runs on seven hits while drawing four walks and swiping multiple bases.
Tyler Hacker paced the offense, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and two stolen bases. His ability to get into scoring position put immediate pressure on Bryant & Stratton's defense.
Jason LeBold provided the big blow, launching a home run and driving in three runs in a 2-for-3 performance. His power swing proved to be the difference-maker in the middle innings.
Trevor Hernandez added an RBI and scored twice, while stealing two bases. Jackson Austin chipped in with a double, and Salem's aggressive approach on the basepaths resulted in steals from Hacker (2), Jay Barber, JJ Pankowski, and Hernandez (2).

In the nightcap, Salem turned to its pitching staff and balanced offensive attack to complete the sweep.
The Mighty Oaks collected 14 hits and scored six runs, highlighted by a three-run home run from Rocco String. String finished with three RBI, delivering the decisive swing of the game.
Tyler Hacker stayed hot at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI and two more stolen bases. Trevor Hernandez had a big game offensively, going 3-for-4, while Chase Hortiz (2-for-4) and Cliff Wysinger (2-for-5) each contributed multi-hit performances.
Roman Hernandez added a triple, and Jason LeBold doubled and drove in a run. Salem also executed small ball effectively, including a sacrifice from Chase Walsh.
On the mound, Sean Bogan earned the win, tossing 4.0 innings while allowing two runs on six hits and striking out three. Nick Reckard and Louie Rivera combined for two scoreless innings of relief to close out the 6-2 victory.
